'When i get to Warwick Avenue...'

Damnn... so here i am, back from my trip to Germany...

Checking if there's some new hot shit to post... JUST WHEN Meka & Shake(a.k.a 2DopeBoyz) hit me up with this new dope track from DC's own Wale.

This track is amazing, nothing like the B*LLSH*T that has been coming out lately..
The sample is from Duffy's: Warwick Avenue, and the drums are sooo nice....
Some real iPod-food to feed my hunger for the next days...!

anyway.. nuff' with the talking,. just enjoy the track, and ehhh well... I'M BACK!

MagicalMoodXXLPost

November the 4th is the day that the XXL 'Top Of The Class' issue arrives on the stands.... till' then... some of the dopest new-school cats drop bars for y'all...
I chose the ones that were my favorites...(check the xxl site for Kid Cudi, Currensy and others..)

Mickey Factz(busy thinking of the last time i had a post where Mickey WASN'T in..)

Blu(Anybody still looking for that new Johnson&Johnson album?)

Charles Hamilton(Expect a review of his new mixtape 2morrow..)

-I'm out.!

MagicalMoodMixtape(Throwback)

Yeahh i'm on my throwback-ishh ...(mostly because of the lack of quality right now)
And i feel like putting my man Mickey (Factz) in the spotlight again..

I don't wanna review the Leak v.1 or v.2 since EVERY HIPSTER BLOG ON THE PLANET already had those tapes on there.. so i skimmed through my iPod and then i found some dope-ness,. : In Search Of The N.E.R.D....
I just had to bring this tape out, mostly because this is a mixtape that not too many people have... or even know about.
AND because the boys of N.E.R.D are set to rock the stage in Holland on November the 9th...(8 days after Rock The Bells).

-Allthough i just had to say... nobody of the N.E.R.D camp assisted or co-signed this mixtape(as far as i know),... this is just Mickey ripping some hot N.E.R.D instrumentals...

-REVIEW-
Mickey Factz - In Search of the N.E.R.D....

The mixtape has 13 tracks on it...Starting off with a track named : Mickey James.
I guess he's just on some brag' and boast' shit here... with lines like:
I can't let my eyes sleep, till' i ask if i'm in your top 3
And your hand goes up like a nazi,(you got me?)

Beat is a little soothing and smooth because of the light drums and the nice synths and voices.
Things are Getting Better is the track that follows...
When the track begins you hear GFC's own Steve-o announcing Mickey over some dope ass break-beat drums ... and later on the drums get assisted by raw synth sounds and funky guitars. Mickey comes hard as usual and the beat sounds good with his flow.
When the chorus kicks in ,the raw synths change into some jazzy keys and Pharell also comes through with the vocals.
The third track is on a beat that i already loved before Mickey killed it..
Rockstar Posers is on the famous:
You can't be me, I'm a Rock Star
I'm rhyming on the top of a cop car
beat...
I don't need to tell anybody how this beat goes ,cause i know all of y'all went crazy to this track in the clubs..
Mickey comes through and body-bags all of the posers rocking fake bapes/posers wearing skate clothes even though they never touched a skateboard.

After that he goes further with the brag' and boast' style he left us off with at the first track ,on the famous 'LapDance' beat... only his version is called 'Madman'.
With dope one-liners as: 'you think life's a joke?, then you can die laughing'
The next track('The Way She Dances') is a beat that i've also heard before. I loved the beat before and i like it even more with Mickey on it.
I hope the boys over at Star Trak heard this tape.. because it's almost scary how perfect Mickey's voice fits the N.E.R.D beats..(coughh... SIGN MICKEY TO STAR TRAK cough..)
That probably already explains my feelings about this track... Mickey comes hard on the guitar beats!.
Backseat Love is a track that i don't want to talk much about.
The beat is on some Jimi Hendrix kind off ishh.. And Mickey is on some Slick Rick-storytelling-ishh... NEXT..!
Wonderful Place is about unplanned pregnancies and Mickey becoming a dad and the mixed feelings he have with the whole situation.
ahaha LOL at the conversation before the second verse:(some woman)Mickey i'm late...(Mickey) you late for what?, late for work?....
Beat sounds nice and calm because of the rimshot and the acoustic guitar,.. along with the whistling in the background.

The next track(Stay Together) is my personal favorite of the tape.. some nice melodic vibes with an AMAZING drumline and a bad-ass bassline mixed with some electric guitars...
The track makes me wanna dance and even now when i'm listening it on my ipod my head goes up and down faster than an elevator..
Truth or Dare is the worst track on the tape BY FAR... just because i don't like the beat. i mean,... you got Rock/hip-hop and you just got ROCK...(and this is in the second category..)
But luckely for this tape, a dope track follows. Just like a few earlier tracks Pharell joins forces with Mickey to lay down dope chorus vocals.
The track is called Run To The Sun and is just another good track with lots of instruments on it...Drums, Keys, Organs?, (Bass)Guitars...
Again on some smooth ishh.. just like most tracks on this tape.
The next track isn't though...Dope drums and a nice electric guitar mixed with some dude that screams 'OOHHHHH' all the time is what makes Trasher a (kinda) agressive based street-track..
oh yeah.. that AND the chorus....
GEORGE BUSH!, FUCK EM UP!
DICK CHENEY, FUCK EM UP!
CONDELEEZA, FUCK EM UP!

(and that goes on for about 8 names,.. including 'the goverment').
Mickey goes in all political on this track with some interesting facts about the government.

Breakout shows me a Mickey in the best shape of his life... with some razorblade-sharp rhymes over a (yet again) smooth pop/rock beat. Stating...

'This is not a typo, homie i'm talking.
Our country is totally lost it.
I blame it on the leaders,.. i knew we were gonna get fucked..
Cause we had a dick, a bush and a colin in office.
Cheney, George and Powell, all the vowels in this verse are used more than powers,.
We need to wise up and i ain't talking flowers
Take over the world and call it ours.
Get rid of all the cowards, shake off the doubters,...
then restore the fallen towers'

The ending track/outro 'Take it Off' is for all the lovers & friends(with benefits)..
Cause it's basically Pharell singing to all the girls and telling them to take their bras and panties off.. with Mickey Factz assisting him with a few hot bars..
(Slow jam)

MagicalMoodMp3's : New Statik Selektah, Scarface and Past Due....

There must be very big stories behind these tracks, but i'm not gonna post those, since i'm going to a friend's house in a few minutes.

All i know is that the 'Emeritus' track is Face's new single, The track from Past Due is just a album cut(but a VERY DOPE one) and the Statik Selektah track is off his upcoming album : 'Stick 2 the Script'.

'So, you didn't make it to Film School..., Then what?'

I don't know whether they really are film school rejects ,or just thought it was a cool name...
I don't know where they from (though i've read somewhere that they're from Massachusettes, but somewhere else i've read that they're from North Carolina...?!)
I also don't know which one of the mc's is 'Sheen Phillips' and which is 'Future Joyner'.
And before today i also didn't knew what they're in-house producer(Cyrus Tha Great) looked like..

So a (MagicalMoodMc's)bio didn't seem like the best thing to do... cause there is so little information on the internet about them...
What i CAN do though, is just post a few tracks here, a (half-ass) behind the scenes footage of their next(and first) video AND a link to download their latest mixtape: Workprint : The Greatest Mixtape Of All Time... Enjoy...

(Don't sleep on them,... they're VERY DOPE!)

'Let me hear you say: THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY.!'

THIS IS HOW I FEEL RIGHT NOW.... tired and exhausted...
That's why i just had to say: 'Thank god it's friday!'
And i wouldn't be MoodSwingz if i didn't had THE PERFECT track to fit with that feeling...

A-Love - Friday
http://www.zshare.net/audio/198866724b95d19a/

A-Love is an Australian (Female)Mc.... some of her tracks are dope(personally i think this is her dopest track). Only too bad for her accent, cause i can't listen to rap with strange accents for a long time. Wanna know more about her? GOOGLE BITCHESS...!

MagicalMoodMemories: 1996

A+ - All i See(Video)

Just some very good classic hip-hop for all the old-school heads..

This track above is called 'All i See' and was the main single from A+'s debut album 'The Latch-Key Child'. Personally i didn't thought this was the dopest track on the album, but a track named 'Me & My Microphone' that featured (ATCQ-member) Q-Tip.

Q-Tip wasn't the only big name on the album, both AZ and Mobb Deep also laid down some nice bars on there. A+ often got compared to a young Nas. (If someone wants the whole album, just request it in the comments section and i'll add the album link ASAP.)

MagicalMoodMc's: XV

Wow.... Finally some proof that Hip-Hop isn't dead....

Kansas representative : XV...

He has a great style of rapping and really knows how to choose beats that fit him.
With dope in-house producer 'Seven' and beats from 'Just Blaze', 'Nottz' and 'Kanye West', he really handles his business. Some people might call a lot of his newer tracks : 'Hipster rap'(also known from artists like U-N-I, Cool Kids & Mickey Factz).

He already has many mixtapes supporting his name(For downloads check his Myspace: www.myspace.com/XtotheVizzy), but now he's doing something else.
He's busy with a project named: 40 days, 40 nights.
It's basically him dropping a NEW track every morning and every night for 40 days straight.

'When the gun goes : Bang!, Bang!, Bang!'

The Knux - Bang!,Bang!(Produced by The Knux)

This is a video from the self-producing duo : 'The Knux'.
I KNOW the chorus sounds kinda corny, but the track is dope and their rapping style kinda reminds me of the old 'Big Boi'(Outkast) swagger...

It's the leading single for their upcoming album called: 'Remind me in 3 days' (COP-IT!)

'I'm back now, Sorry i left you...'

Another 'retirement' has been cancelled, After the likes of Jay-z, Eminem and Too $hort, Jean Grae also 'faked her retirement'. Earlier this year she anounced her retirement on Myspace... some people already thought she was just playing around,.. while others begged her to stay in the game and almost cried with the thoughts of a hip-hop game without the worlds greatest female emcee(..that's what i did...coughh....)

But she didn't retire (thank god and all of the above..!)...
Instead she hooked up with the production duo : Blue Sky Black Death, and created a SICK ALBUM..named 'The Evil Jeanius'

-ALBUM REVIEW-

The albums starts of slow with a track named 'Shadows Forever', a track that i downloaded a few weeks ago of some blog. The track after that ('Ahead of the game') is FIRE though....!!! Some rapper named Blacasta joins Jean on this dope BSBD production, doper than the most shit that i've heard FOR A LONG TIME(especially when Jean grabs the mic).
The sample is used very well, and the drums are very 'hip-hop'.
I didn't know BSBD had beats like this laying around.

The two tracks after that: 'Strikes' and 'Threats' ft. Chen Lo, are both very solid-nice tracks.
But then... a track named 'Away with me'!... when i heard it... wow.. GOOSEBUMPS...
I swear... the production is tighter than the pussy of a virgin ,and Jean comes hard as usual.
Never heard Jean on a smooth beat like this,.. and well... i like it.!

The following 'Even on your best day', 'Take it back' and 'Lights out' are dope,.. but not amazing or something(just some good Jean tracks).
'Nobody'll do it for you' IS very dope though... with a very happy vibe because of the dope soulful sample.
But after hearing 'Away with me' i'm not impressed that fast anymore.
Atleast, that's what i thought, until i heard 'It's Still A Love Song'....
Woooww... that track goes hard.... The soulful beat without drums suits her very well, and that great vibe didn't went away when the (slightly boring) drums came in.

Conclusion : Jean can't leave rap alone, the game needs her.!

Dopest tracks:

Track 2 - 'Ahead of the game' ft. Blacasta
http://www.zshare.net/audio/197641106206ca0d/

Track 5 - 'Away with me'
http://www.zshare.net/audio/19763552e2c334b1/

Track 10 - 'It's still a love song'
http://www.zshare.net/audio/19763967a9bac0ac/

..Solid album with 3 really dope tracks, the others are: just dope..

'1st of November....WOW....'

Do i even need to write something here?,.. the image above kinda speaks for itself.
Just can't wait to tell my grandkids in the future that i was at the first 'Rock the Bells' festival in Holland.. EVER..
(GOT MY TICKETS)

[Still kinda mad that they didn't got ATCQ and Dead Prez for the international tour,.. but also happy cause i just heard that 'Rock The Bells' isn't even gonna hop out in GERMANY...// feel sorry for them though...]

-- Update -- Just had a voicemail message from Jasper,.... ahahah and not a normal message,. NO.... it was him rapping along with Erick and Parish(EPMD) on the 'Never Seen Before'(Remix) ... Apparently i'm not the only one who's looking forward to rock some bells.. lol -- Update --
